The Werner 55-1 is specifically designed to fit all Werner attic ladders manufactured in 2006 and older. It is important to note that if you do not have a Werner attic ladder, the 55-1 will not be compatible with your ladder.
The 55-1 package includes two hinge arms and the necessary hardware for installation. However, it does not include pivot plates. You have the option to use your existing pivot plates or choose not to use them at all. Further instructions regarding the use of pivot plates can be found in the 55-1 instructions provided.

Very Satisfied

The old brackets had bent in, so I replaced them with these. The biggest challenge was drilling out the stock rivets. Overall, it's a very nice product. Just remember to lubricate it monthly, along with your garage door springs and rollers, and it should last forever.

Very Satisfied

I replaced the old bent brackets with these new ones as they had become deformed. The most significant hurdle I faced was removing the stock rivets by drilling them out. However, the overall quality of the product is impressive, and it serves its purpose well. To ensure its longevity, it is important to remember to lubricate it on a monthly basis, along with the garage door springs and rollers. With proper maintenance, this product should last indefinitely.

Lag Nut Broke

I pre-drilled the hole and everything, but the lag nut broke and is now stuck inside. I can't use the bracket again with a broken screw. I'm out of ideas now and will have to replace the ladder. Additionally, the price was $46 three days ago and now it's $26. Can't catch a break.

Lag Nut Broke

I had prepared and pre-drilled the hole meticulously, but unfortunately, the lag nut broke during installation and is now stuck inside. With a broken screw, it is no longer possible to use the bracket again. At this point, I have exhausted all my ideas and options, and it seems that the only solution left is to replace the ladder entirely.

Poor Instructions, but Works Well

Installed it, and it works great for my old wooden attic ladder. Just ensure that the model and the part match up.
